Athens Olympics 2004 - The Families and Great Moments of the Games - Tear Jerking Collage

Australian commentary throughout, with something for just about everybody. I hadn't seen this for many years, and couldn't help but shed a tear. The video begins with a deepish dive into the families of a couple of the Australian Men's Hockey team which up to this point had had a long history of losing finals and heartbreak. We then hear from families of Australian athletes like James Tomkins, Drew Ginn, Ian Thorpe, Jane Saville - oh my lord Jane Saville. She is a road walker and was DQ'd just before entering the stadium while leading in Sydney 2000, in front of the home crowd. It was and still is the most heart wrenching story for any Aussie that loves the Olympics like I do. We then move onto Chantelle Newbury, Jodie Henry, Suzie Balogh. We then have an interview with 2 of our Gold medallist Men's Hockey team in Stephen Mowlam and Bevan George. And finally some international Gold medal great moments like the Kenyan's sweeping the Men's 3000m steeplechase, Jeremy Wariner, the Women's Marathon and how it tests you to the extreme, back to Jane Saville briefly, Hicham El Guerrouj finally gets crowned, Fani Halkia winning for host nation Greece to end with some great theatre. I contemplated splitting this up, but its a great compilation of moments we won't easily forget. Probably one of my favourite videos if you watch it through to the end. I hope you enjoy it.
