New Health-Related Social Needs Programs through Medicaid

June Learning Collaborative: New Health-Related Social Needs Programs through Medicaid: Nutrition and Modifications, Adaptations, and Remediation Services Hear from Southeast Washington Aging and Long-Term Care about these new Medicaid-funded Health-Related Social Needs programs. The HRSN programs will allow qualifying Medicaid enrollees to receive non-medical services to address unmet, adverse social conditions such as food insecurity and unhealthy living environments that contribute to poor health outcomes. Nutrition Services and Supports enhance existing food benefits such as SNAP and encourages people to voluntarily adopt healthy food choices. The Modifications, Adaptations, and Remediation Services (MARS) program are services designed to provide physical and environmental changes to a home to ensure the health and safety of an individual.
