#26 | Beautiful Day I wrote this in 2012 I think. The words and melody for the chorus just came out of nowhere. Weird how you can just pull things out of the ether like that. I proceeded to write about spending a gorgeous day with my girlfriend. Ended up being one of the fan favorites and we never ever play it live for some reason. In 2014 we did a revised version of it with John Feldmann. Dude is a serious producer and the singer of Goldfinger, one of my favorite bands. We spent a couple days at his house and did the new version. He wanted to call it “Halo” and I added (Beautiful Day) after it so it hopefully wouldn’t confuse anyone. I really enjoyed the experience of working with him and the song turned out great. For this performance I took the best parts of the two versions and mashed them together. Side note: My daughter Halo was born the same day the Halo version was released. Her name is actually related to something else. Funny coincidence.
