SLOWER PACE OF LIFE: A SOLO WEEK ON KOH SAMUI

Before meeting up with my kids for a big gathering in Krabi, I decided to take seven days completely to myself on Koh Samui. After a long train and bus journey down from Bangkok, my goal was simple: no strict plans, no rush, just experiencing a slower, casual pace of retirement travel. In this video, I’m sharing my daily routine on the island—from hunting down the best local coffee shops in Chaweng to becoming a regular at a fantastic family-run fruit shake stall. I also hire a moped for a couple of days to explore further out and stumble upon some incredible local food. It was a beautiful, peaceful week... right up until the tropical weather caught up with me.
