The Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village Museum in Manipal is a unique open-air museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. Conceptualized by Vijayanath Shenoy in the 1970s, the museum features more than 24 reconstructed buildings, each representing different aspects of historical architecture and daily life from various regions of Karnataka. About Miyar House ▹ The structure is the principal entrance block (Hebbagilu Chavadi) of a typical agrarian Brahmin house of erstwhile South Canara district. Although started with all the traditional elements of this region, the influence of the British Colonial era, is very clearly seen in the character of the rear balcony.
