Greetings to all, we wish you a pleasant viewing. We are taking a tour of Amasra's city center. We are back with a new video for you, our valued friends. The history of Blue Green Amasra, the pearl of the Western Black Sea, dates back 3,000 years. Amasra, the capital of many civilizations, has been an important port and trade center since ancient times. First known as "Sesamos" in the 12th century BC, this city eventually became known as "Amastris." Conquered by Mehmed the Conqueror in 1461, Amasra remained an important port during the Ottoman Empire. Since the 1950s, Amasra has become a tourist destination and continues to attract visitors today with its natural beauty and historical structures. We used the new Bartın Amasra road. You can travel from Bartın to Amasra either by your own car, using the old or new road, or by public transportation from the Amasra minibus stop at the old bus station in Bartın. Briefly speaking, the old road of Amasra is a scenic and dangerous one, with many winding roads. Bakacak Hill is one of Amasra's most iconic vantage points and offers the best panoramic views of the city. The hill also holds historical significance. Legend has it that Mehmed the Conqueror, on his way to conquer Amasra, stopped on this hill and asked, "Lala, is this the Eye of the World?" For this reason, the hill is also known locally as "Çeşm-i Cihan Hill." The Kuşkayası Road Monument is also located on the old road and features figures of Roman soldiers and eagles. We visit the Amasra Museum, which displays archaeological and ethnographic artifacts from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. A walking path runs from the bus station along the coast to Barış Akarsu Park. Numerous tea gardens, cafes, bars, and restaurants line the coast, and the coast offers wonderful pics with fishing boats. Amasra Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Western Black Sea region. It's a backstreet lined with shops and small businesses. You'll find numerous hotels and guesthouses catering to every budget on every street in Amasra. While Amasra isn't known for its nightlife, it's quite lively, especially during the summer months. We descended to Amasra Beach and took the right-hand road towards Amasra Beach. On our left is the Amasra Public Beach. Amasra Beach is a popular spot for those looking to cool off on hot summer days. Due to its proximity to Ankara, Amasra is also known as "Ankara's Beach." Along this beach, you'll find seafront cafes and restaurants where you can cool off during the day with the breeze overlooking the azure sea. In the evenings, you can enjoy a delightful time with live music while enjoying the sparkling views of Amasra. Just to the right is the Amasra Sailing Club. In Amasra's summer months, you can cool off in the gentle breeze and witness the magnificent sailboat show. Along the road near the marina are fish restaurants and cafes. We arrived at Amasra's famous Çekiciler Bazaar. Located in the heart of Amasra, the famous Çekiciler Bazaar is an ideal place for shopping, offering handmade souvenirs and local products. The small but lively Çekiciler Bazaar is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Unique woodwork, souvenirs, and workshops in the Çekiciler Bazaar are a major draw. One of the most important structures in the city center is Amasra Castle. Amasra Castle was included on the Tentative List of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2013. Traces of Genoa are evident in Amasra Castle and the Little Church. You can ascend to the castle via the stairs on the right. Amasra Castle was built by the Romans and later restored by the Byzantines, Genoese, and Ottomans. Amasra is also renowned for its rich cuisine, combining fresh Black Sea seafood with local flavors. Fish such as turbot, whiting, bluefish, and horse mackerel are cooked Amasra-style and served with Çöven bread. The famous Amasra Salad is a blend of nearly 27 different vegetables. Yogurt with honey is served as a light dessert after meals. There is also a Miner Statue in Amasra, commemorating the miners. This statue, located in the center of Amasra, commemorates the workers who lost their lives in the mining industry. Amasra is a popular tourist destination for both local and foreign tourists, especially during the summer months. Considering the city's historic narrow streets and pedestrian density, vehicle traffic is often at its peak, especially during the summer season and public holidays. In fact, you can easily and enjoy exploring Amasra city center on foot. #amasra #bartın #blacksea #castle #barışakarsu #kemere #bridge #tourism #turkey #placestosee #trip #travelvideos #coast #travel #travelvlog #traveling #travel #turkey #citytour #nature #best #history #culture #historical #historicalplaces
