During an interview with Agro24Cast, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Leonardo Carvalho, highlighted the importance of preserving and restoring riparian forests to guarantee the water security of Rio Branco. Commenting on the Saerb project to expand water intake on the Acre River, the official stressed that combating illegal deforestation and restoring Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) are fundamental to reducing river siltation and protecting springs. Carvalho also mentioned ongoing projects to recover 30 hectares of degraded areas in the basins of the São Francisco stream and the Amapá Environmental Protection Area. #ac24agro #agro24cast
