Retevis H777, brief look, on air tests and CHIRP programming overview

I take a look at the H777 from ‪@retevis‬ , this one is in a rather bright green, these have been around a while, the unit I have is a PMR446 version but I can imagine Retevis have made a FRS and GMRS version available for our friends across the pond. I found the radio to be light in the hand and prior to making this video I found it had good audio on receive, it's a simple radio with a 16-channel rotary encoder comparable to other UHF HTs of similar design and is compatible with the widely available CHIRP software which I demonstrate in the video. I also do an on-air test walking around the local area, the range in an open field is often quoted to be up to 3KM but in a built-up area you won't get that range, I recorded the transmissions on the SDR and measured the line of sight distances and included that information in the video Prices at time of filming are around £35 for the 3 pack (which is 3 individually boxed radios bound together not a box of 3) of the green radio from Amazon (https://amzn.eu/d/00n5QmKW), black coloured radios are available too (https://amzn.eu/d/04z1MnPd) for a fiver less, and you can get the black ones singly (https://amzn.eu/d/08SNBPQ9) for around £20 though the multipacks work out a little cheaper per radio. I have some more Retevis PMR446 radios lined up, both them and the H777 have been on my backlog for a while and I'm now getting round to giving them their screen time, stay tuned for those ones. #hamradio #pmr446 #retevis #446MHz #433mhz Help support the channel, basic level for only £0.99 or early access for an extra £2.00:    / @paulmcgeem0wnu
