Welcome to one of the most extreme, mystical, and historic expeditions I've ever filmed for the channel! We ventured into the heart of the municipality of Uribe, Meta, to find a place that's rarely mentioned online and is sacred to the Páez Indigenous Council: the mysterious Laguna del Oso (Bear Lagoon), located in the Planes village. In this first part, we began our journey at 5:40 a.m., crossing the Pacific-Orinoquía Corridor road project. What followed was pure adventure: landslides along the way, crossing the La Candelaria stream in a basket suspended from a cable, and challenging the infamous 'Loma del Engaño' (Hill of Deceit) in the Central Mountain Range, with breathtaking views of the Duda River. But the trip isn't all about scenery. Our Indigenous guide, Don Javier Yatacué, revealed a hidden secret in the jungle: the ancient trenches of Manuel Marulanda Vélez's first security perimeter, connected to the history of Casa Verde. To end the day, we arrived at the home of Daniel, the governor of the Indigenous council, where we had to undergo an ancestral "refreshing" ritual to cleanse our energies before being allowed to continue.
