Parkrun | Gateshead parkrun - Saltwell Park, Gateshead, UK - November 2025

Join me for a speeded up point of view run at Gateshead Parkrun. Comment below what you think of the new graphics. This was their 614th event and my 143rd. Gateshead Parkrun is held at Saltwell Park in Gateshead. There are buses from that pass the park but check the Parkrun website for full details. We drove, and there is plenty of parking around the area. You could easily catch trains to Newcastle Train Station and then a bus or warm up run the rest of the way. The course is one lap of the top half of a figure of 8 course, then 3 laps of the bottom half before returning to the start at the top. The going is all tarmac path and is well maintained but with some standing water in one place. As usual for a Parkrun, it was slightly congested at the start but soon spread out, although as a lapped course you will either lap people or be lapped depending how fast you run.
