This video tells the story of how André Leon Talley single handedly saved the career of John Galliano back in the 1990s, before the designer was famous and powerful. After André's passing in early 2022, I wanted to not honor his memory for just his fun quotes or being the first black fashion editor at Vogue, which is not to say those aren't great accomplishments, but I wanted to expand on how he was also a powerbroker and influential figure behind the scenes of the fashion industry as well. And one of the ways that he cement himself as a legend, was when he fought to help a then young and irrelevant John Galliano secure money, a set, supermodels, hair, makeup, and everything to make one of the fashion industry's most intriguing collections. This is the story of that collection from André and John's backgrounds to how they secured a Billionaire's personal home to stage the show in as well as getting some of the most legendary supermodels like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Shalom Harlow, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista to walk the show.
