Les mains qui reparent la terre: une histoire de restauration des terres dans le Sahel.

Throughout the Sahel, land is much more than just soil. It is the foundation of food security, livelihoods, and community resilience. In Matam, in northeastern Senegal, the Land Restoration Boot Camp brings together participants from six Sahelian countries and ten universities for hands-on training in techniques for restoring degraded land through practical, community-based approaches. From participatory planning and landscape analysis to the construction of half-moons, gully stabilization, and the implementation of agroforestry systems, future trainers gain practical experience that they can replicate across the region. Organized and facilitated by the Sahel Universities Network for Resilience (REUNIR), with support from the World Food Programme (WFP), this intensive learning strengthens local capacities, connects universities and communities, contributes to building long-term resilience, and improves food security in the Sahel.
