On the Origin of Time
“We create the universe to an equal degree that the universe creates us.” – Thomas Hertog With their groundbreaking quantum theoretical model, Thomas Hertog and Stephen Hawking have turned modern cosmology upside down. During their 20 year long collaboration they made their foremost breakthrough when they, apart from big bang, black holes and cosmic inflation, made man a central ingredient in the cosmological framework. The result was Stephen Hawkings final theory on cosmos. To understand what happened at the beginning of time we must, according to Hertog and Hawking, give up the dream about being able to overview the universe from an objective outside perspective. Instead we must turn our attention towards the origin of the world from our human, finite, perspective. Fri Tanke is proud to present a whole evening about the origins of everything. On the 6 November Thomas Hertog is invited to Scalateatern in Stockholm for a conversation with the Physicist and Author Ulf Danielsson. Christer Sturmark, Publisher and CEO of Fri Tanke, is leading the conversation. Jazz singer Isabella Lundgren sets the tone for the evening.
