Mariage forcé, le Pasteur Kas épouse une mineure comme douzième femme

The public prosecutor at the Kinshasa Gombe High Court is prosecuting Pierre Kasambakana Kasongo, alias Pastor Kas, senior pastor of the early church of Yeshua ha Mashyah; Daniel Mabiala Nzuzi, biological father of the victim Mabiala Meda; and Ngoma Nzatoto Jean Clavaire, a state employee, for rape of a minor, forced marriage within his church, forgery, and the use of forged documents. The facts date back to January 8, 2024. According to the prosecution, the defendant, Pierre Kasambakana Kasongo, allegedly used his position as pastor to pressure the girl Meda Mabiala, a minor, to marry him as his twelfth wife. The defendant also allegedly violated morality by encouraging followers of his church to marry only minor girls. The defendant Kasambakana Kasongo, alias Pastor KAS, also allegedly forced the girl Meda Mabiala into a forced marriage, the ceremony of which went viral on social media. The prosecution is also prosecuting the defendant Mabiala Nzuzi Daniel, the girl's father, for forcing his daughter to marry her pastor to satisfy the latter's interests. The prosecution is also prosecuting the defendant Ngoma Nzatoto Jean Clavaire for preparing a false birth certificate and inserting false information on it. At today's hearing, the court called the first defendant, Pastor KAS, to give his version of events. The defendant denies the charges against him. He maintains that it was the girl's father who begged him to marry his daughter. He also claims that the girl is 18 years old and not... The court then asked the defendant if he had received prior consent. The defendant Kasambakana Kasongo maintains that the girl consented by agreeing to the marriage ceremony. The court then calls the second defendant, Daniel Mabiala, the girl's biological father, to testify for his version of events. The defendant maintains that he initiated the marriage. And this marriage was accepted by his daughter and her family. He further claims that he did not receive the dowry from his pastor, the first defendant, on the grounds that he was convinced to offer his daughter to his pastor as his twelfth wife. The court adjourns the case for further investigation and oral argument.
