Detroit Walking. Gratiot Corridor through Downtown to Beacon Park

We start above the Dequindre Cut on the Gratiot Ave. overpass, and then make our way through the southern business district of Eastern Market, passing several historic churches. As we approach downtown, we soon find ourselves at the foot of Gratiot Ave, sandwiched between Greektown and Broadway. We pass through "The Belt" alley of the Z-Garage and exit to views of the former J.L. Husdon building site, where Detroit's newest skyscraper is taking shape. We then cross Woodward Ave. and make our way up Grand River Ave. to go check out Beacon Park and DTE Plaza. There's lots to see along the way on this windy an unseasonably warm March day!
