The Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) emphasized that the physical training portion of the Bachelor of Indonesian Development Drivers (SPPI) program has been designed in a measurable manner and will not be a burden for participants. "Measurable" means that from the outset, we are not preparing these students to become military personnel, but rather to develop discipline, integrity, and a strong work ethic. "Therefore, the training portion is not burdensome from the outset," said Brigadier General Hengki Yuda Setiawan, Head of the Reserve Component Center (Kapus Komcad) at the Ministry of Defense, at the Ministry of Defense Office in Central Jakarta, Saturday (June 27, 2026). Hengki explained that the training focuses more on developing discipline, integrity, and a strong work ethic in the program participants. He also added that during the recruitment process, the Ministry of Defense also accepts participants with disabilities. In fact, four participants with disabilities passed the SPPI selection. This is said to be evidence that physical ability is not the primary factor in the program. Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense, together with the Ministry of Health, is said to continue conducting follow-up screenings on participants to ensure their health is monitored.
