F/A-18C TROOPS IN CONTACT CALL FOR CAS MISSION | AFGHANISTAN | DCS WORLD | 4k

TROOPS IN CONTACT | AFGHANISTAN | F/A-18C CAS MISSION | DCS WORLD A convoy movement through an Afghan valley began as a routine operation targeting an enemy supply network. With Krueger 1-1 providing sniper overwatch and JTAC support from an observation post overlooking the objective, Nightmare Actual advanced toward a suspected enemy supply cache near Checkpoint Dreamstate. The mission changed in seconds. Heavy small-arms fire, RPGs, and inaccurate mortar fire erupted from multiple enemy positions, halting the convoy and initiating a Troops in Contact (TIC) situation. With friendly forces pinned down, Nightmare Main diverted Stryker 1-1, an F/A-18C strike aircraft carrying 4 GBU-32 JDAMs and 4 GBU-38 JDAMs, to provide immediate close air support. ISR assets and forward observers identified multiple enemy compounds, mortar positions, and fighting locations throughout the valley. Target coordinates were transmitted directly from the observation post and uplinked to the aircraft for immediate attack. The result was a coordinated precision strike against four enemy positions, followed by re-attacks on surviving threats and a final gun run against enemy fighters maneuvering around the objective. ⸻ BATTLE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT (BDA) • Enemy supply depot destroyed • Enemy mortar compound neutralized • Multiple enemy fighting positions eliminated • Enemy maneuver elements destroyed • Convoy mission continued successfully Friendly Status • Personnel: GREEN • Two MRAPs: BLACK • Ammunition: RED ⸻ This mission was created and flown in DCS World as a cinematic close air support scenario inspired by real-world JTAC, ISR, and CAS procedures.
