Depuis plus de 10 ans, dans le milieu de la musique "du monde", elle se fait repérer pour sa voix et sa personnalité à la force tranquille. Mais avec son passage à l’émission «The Voice» où elle défendait crânement «Haramtou Bik Nouassi», chanson d’amour arabo-andalouse, Samira Brahmia a plus que galvanisé un auditoire en Algérie, elle a compris qu’un nouveau public l’attendait des deux cotés de la Méditerranée. Un signe d’encouragement pour une chanteuse qui revendique son identité plurielle et qui a l’ambition de bousculer les codes esthétiques pour faire voyager son art hors des territoires assignés. C'est en tête d'affiche que de nombreux professionnels devinent la palette de son talent lors des spectacles «Barbès Café», «Cabaret Tam Tam» au Cabaret Sauvage. Samira a collaboré et partagé la scène avec l’Orchestre National de Barbès, Cheb Khaled, Ayo, Rachid Taha, Idir, Gnawa Diffusion, Sucheela Raman, Justin Adams. Elle en pince pour le swing d’Ella Fitzgerald, le groove de Cheikha Rimitti, la fougue d’Édith Piaf, la saudade de Cesaria Évora, elle a comme ses illustres ainées une voix dont le grain, la dynamique, la texture, rappelle celles dont on dit "qu’elles guérissent l’âme". Samira Brahmia, à qui la chance sourit, a été choisie pour le rôle principal du premier long métrage de l’actrice césarisée Rachida Brakni. Puis participe à l'album concept «Méditarranéennes» (Capitol music) aux côtés de Chimène Badi, Julie Zenatti, Claudio Capéo, Slimane... Preuve d’une bonne étoile pour celle qui assure : «Je crois en la musique, car elle me permet de croire en l’humain, je suis persuadée qu’elle peut sauver le monde». Samira Brahmia is an international artist, composer and performer who spent the majority of her life between France and Algeria. She is known for her eclectic sounds, a mix of pop-rock and world music. It was not until she competed on the hit show «The Voice», that Samira suddenly realised how big her audience had grown internationally. Samira is, and has always been, curious by nature, as she was influenced by so many cultures experienced on her travels around the world and the people she has met along the way.
