Color Patterns Are Essential to Creating Specific Results in Water!

I've given you lots of secrets on making bath bombs like Lush & today I'm giving you the final piece of the puzzle! Color patterns are very important! They make a difference in how bath bombs look, but more importantly, how they react in water. I'm going to show you how to make all of them (there are 10 total) & how each one creates very different results & reactions in water. You'll need at least 3 colors & 2 different recipes; one slow foaming recipe & 1 vigorous recipe. Use different batches within a bomb to make different color patterns. The "batches" can be a different color and/or a different recipe. 1. Solid/Single: a single batch. 2. Half & half: 2 batches, one on each side. 3. Solid Embed: A solid batch embed inside a bomb. 4. Embed Powder: a batch spooned inside another batch. 5. Nesting Doll: 3 or more batches inside each other. 6. Chunky: ALL batches can be seen in a chunky pattern. 7. Layered: 2-3 different batches layered on top each other. 8. Swirled: 2-3 different batches swirled on top each other (usually 1 dominant batch with other batches "sprinkled" in between). 8b. Swirled/Layered: A mix of both swirls & layers (basically messy layers). 9. Random: Add all batches to a bowl then mold them together (don’t mix it too much; try to leave the colors as chunky as possible). 10. Inside-Out/Reversed: The fast batch is on the outside with the slow on the inside. RECIPE: 2 cups (500 grams) baking soda, 1 cup (200 grams) citric acid, 1/2 cup (60 grams) corn starch. 20 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80, 10 milliliters surfactant (coco betaine). Mix dry & wet ingredients together separately. Slowly add wet into dry while whisking. Divide the mix. To the exterior, or "slow foaming" mix add 1/4 cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (40 grams) [or sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium cocoyl isethionate]. To the interior, or "vigorous" mix add 1/4 cup guar gum (40 grams) [or xanthan gum]. This is going to make the bubbles just a bit bigger. You can actually just add more baking soda, corn starch, or citric acid. You can divide both batches into how many colors you want. Mold the bath bombs. Dry 24 hours. This recipe makes 14 2" bath bombs. SUBSTITUTIONS: You may replace any dry mix for the same amount of baking soda or corn starch. You may replace liquid ingredients with carrier oil, water, fragrance oil, etcetera.
