Days 3-4 of our Miyako Island snorkeling expedition. The area was still experiencing strong easterly winds of around 10 m/s and powerful currents. Normally, these conditions wouldn't be conducive to leisurely snorkeling. However, we found an opportunity in the data of a "negative tide level" during a spring tide low. At low tide, when the tide level is negative, the reef that shields the rough waves of the open sea is exposed, blocking the strong currents. We gambled on this "spring tide low" and waited for the right timing. For the hour and a half until the tide receded, we explored the forest on land (including an accidental encounter with a completely unusable abandoned toilet…). And just as planned, in the heart of Ingya Beach, where a moment of silence descended, we were presented with a breathtakingly beautiful "miraculous moment." While we succeeded in witnessing an overwhelming coral world, our TG-6 camera malfunctioned. The following day, our final day on Miyako Island, was a grueling march with a looming time limit.
