India has intensified its diplomatic efforts to bring back Ariha Shah — the daughter of Bhavesh Shah and Dhara Shah — who were separated and faced legal proceedings in Germany. Ariha Shah was removed from her parents' custody in 2021 following a doctor's report of a suspected sexual assault. Despite the couple being cleared of the allegations and the case against them being closed, their daughter has not been returned to them. Furthermore, German Child Services initiated a custody termination case against the couple. How can German authorities justify keeping the child in their custody even after the parents were cleared of any wrongdoing? Shouldn’t they at the very least send the child back to India?
