This is the third piece I've tried to record as a review of the pieces I used to play when I came to my parents' house! This time I played the Violin Sonata in G minor by Eccles from the works included in the new Violin Instruction Book Volume 4 and Suzuki Method Volume 8! This piece is a must-learn work for many violin students. Eccles (1670-1742) was an English violinist of the late Baroque period. This piece is included in the "12 Solo Violins" published by Eccles in 1720, and is the most famous of his works. I find it wonderful in that I can enjoy the melody honestly. It is composed of four movements: slow, fast, slow, and fast. 00:00 1st movement: Grave The piece starts with a somber melody in the key of G minor. In the middle of the melody, there is a hopeful part in the parallel key of B-flat major, but it progresses in a slightly serious manner and ends in G minor. 02:35 Movement 2: Courant (a flowing, fast-paced three-beat dance), Allegro con spirito Allegro con spirito (lively and vivacious). This movement, with its dizzying development, is not only fast-paced but also full of overlapping notes, making it a piece that is not easy to play. It is not an easy piece to play because it is not only fast, but also full of heavy notes (playing multiple notes at the same time). However, it is also a cool song when played properly, so it makes you want to practice harder! LOL! 05:00 3rd movement:Adagio(Gently, comfortably, and relaxingly) Sung at a slow tempo, this movement is a bit more mature. Like the first movement, it ends in G minor after a transition to a parallel key. 07:31 4th movement: Vivace (Lively, lively) As the title of the movement suggests, this movement gives a sense of dynamism and speed, and I think it is a challenging piece for those who are in the process of learning it. It was difficult for me too. The last part is an imposing conclusion suitable for the end of the whole piece.
