The seal of the assembly therefore depends on the correct amount of paste and a cross-shaped tightening pattern to evenly distribute the working forces of the more malleable scrap metal part on the cast iron engine block, which will not move during tightening. It is possible to carefully check the flatness of the part before starting, and it will sometimes be necessary to straighten it if it has been poorly assembled in the past, poorly disassembled, or if some big brute has found nothing better than to apply a heavy weight with a barbarian screwdriver to loosen the casing!!!
