Vocal Coach Reacts To Luther VanDross | A House is not a Home | Live | Ken Tamplin Luther Vandross was truly a master of mixed voice. His ability to move between chest voice and head voice was so seamless you never which one he was actually in. Luther spent much of the beginning of his career singing background for many well known artists including David Bowie, Donna Summer, Bette Midler, and more. Later in his career, he became lead singer with the group Change, which in 1980 produced their debut album which went on to be certified gold. He would eventually leave the group and start a solo career where he went on to sell 35 million records and win 8 Grammys. Today I’ll be reacting to a performance of Vandross singing “A House Is Not A Home” which had previously been recorded by Dionne Warwick who is attendance for his performance.
