Ferrari Dino GTS - One owner for 47 years

While the Ferrari 246 GTS Dino has gained popularity in the last couple years, there is something alluring about a car that has retained a single owner over the last 47 years. This Ferrari 246 GTS Dino was sold new in 1972 to its first owner and a few years later in 1975 it was purchased by its second and current owner, who has lovingly maintained the car over its lifetime. The Dino was not driven often however, so not only is it a two owner Ferrari but it also has a mere 37,000 miles which means it was driven about 740 miles per year! The Dino is Ferraris first ever road going 6 cylinder mid engine car, and while Enzo was not fond of the idea at first he finally relented and decided to create the V6 car and name it after his late son, Dino. Hi Son, Alfedino or Dino for short had tragically passed away from Muscular Dystrophy a few years earlier at the age of 24, so the Ferrari Dino was Enzo's tribute to his son as well as his step away from his tradition of all front engine V12 machines.
