Building My Mobile Machine Shop | Loading My Biggest Milling Machine

Loading my biggest milling machine by myself onto my custom-built trailer was one of the biggest challenges in building my mobile machine shop. In this video I move and position my 2,728 lb (1,237 kg) Birmingham 9" × 50" vertical milling machine onto the workshop trailer I built specifically for my growing collection of machine tools, using a CORBEL gantry crane and a VEVOR 2,200 lb electric chain hoist. Everything shown in this video was moved and positioned by myself. The trailer itself was built by me in 2024 specifically to transport and support these heavy machine tools as part of my dream mobile machine shop. This Birmingham mill is just one of many machines that will eventually find its place on one of my mobile workshop trailers. More heavy equipment—including turret lathes, grinders, milling machines, fabrication tools, and many other industrial machines—will be moved onto additional workshop trailers and platforms that I will build specifically for them in future videos.
