How have you been? Happy new year!! I wish everyone the best for 2022 and hope we will all stay healthy! Back again with a life update, huh? 2021 was not a bad nor a good year, just okay. I started my new job as a 3D animator in January and while it is new and exciting, I felt (and still feel) a lot of pressure and stress, wondering if it fits me and if I’ll be able to reach the level of the people I admire one day. I like to think everything will be okay, but I guess I can’t stop myself from worrying. Aside from work, my 2021 had its good and its bad times. I could meet friends from overseas, get to know some older friends better, say goodbye to family members but also reunite with relatives at the same time. And while I am quite awkward and not the most talkative person, I am grateful for every person who crossed my life and those who are still sticking around, thank you for being part of who I am today. As you can see I didn’t post a lot in 2021. I wish I could sing more but currently living with my parents, I can’t record as much as I want and I am terrified of singing when someone else is at home (it sounds stupid but hopefully I'll get past through it someday). I'm happy I still managed to quickly record some stuff, including this cover. Since I can't sing a lot, I’ve been spending more time on the visual side, learning how to use After Effects better and trying to create more MV-like videos. It is a lot of fun but how do animators deal with AE? Teach me your ways please!!! Now back to the cover. I don’t really sing in French despite it being my first language but it will change eventually. I am not familiar with writing translyrics but it was a fun challenge to take! It is not a direct translation from the Japanese version but I tried to keep the overall feeling and meaning of the song. About the video… the MV was unplanned (how surprising lol) I initially had the main illustration with my persona but when I started to edit the video I felt like adding scenes to go with the lyrics. A lot of brainstorming and trial and error but I find myself really enjoying making MVs though I am still slow at it. (small steps, small steps) It was the first time using my computer to animate, no more crashes hooray (I was using my laptop until then). By the way, my friend Elly also made a French cover of the song with her own lyrics, you should definitely check it too! It’s such a creative and inspiring community, it’s a special place where I can combine my love for art and music and push myself to create and learn more. I’m amazed to see the quality getting higher and higher each year, you guys are amazing. Btw do you remember (the 21st night of Sept--) when we used to go to zerochan to get PNGs and slap a bathroom reverb on audacity and call it a finished mix? Look how far we've come! I’ve also met a lot of amazing and talented people and friends through this commu, some whom I’ve met in person years later across the globe. I’m really happy to see friends and people from the community get more recognition (and money hehe) and get involved in bigger projects after all those years, I hope you will thrive doing what you like for the longest time! It’s getting harder for me to work regularly on covers with my current job but I’ll try to be around for as long as I can! I hope I'll find a way to be more active and collab again someday soon. But for now, thank you always for your support and patience! And I think that’s all I have to say for now… Actually I’ve realized I did write quite a bit haha.
