Lessons from Peter Saville + Non Format [ MVA vlog 105 ]

Peter Saville’s artwork for Joy Division’s “Unknown Pleasures” LP might be the most parodied/homaged/bitten piece of graphic design in history and Non-Format are so used to being copied that they change their style up every 18 months. But in all that copying that designers are doing, they're missing the point about what they should actually be stealing from Saville or Non-Format: a unique approach to making the work that draws on their own interests and passions.
