Music Intervals: Major and Minor 6ths
Continuing the series on intervals and Music theory for all musicians and singers. The recognition of intervals is a valuable asset when finding melody and harmony parts. Also, for transposing a melody to another key. As a singer you might be asked to 'take it down' a step or up a 3rd. Knowing how to move from one key to another is knowing how to accommodate a band or other singers that are familiar with the song in a different key from the original key that you might know.
