Population: 89,068 people (as of January 1, 2024). First mentioned in written sources in 1388. The name Molodechno, apparently, comes from the name of the Molodechanka River, which disappeared as a result of land reclamation work. According to another version, the name of the city comes from the words "molodets" (meaning - small, a warrior in the prince's squad), "young", "junior".
