Today, 170 years after the Bordeaux Grand Cru classification system was established, many châteaux have changed hands, and quality has fluctuated significantly depending on the level of interest and investment in vineyard management and winemaking. However, the classification system remains constant, failing to reflect reality, which has been a major problem. However, the market has already reflected these changes through wine expert evaluations, scores, and prices. In particular, wines that are as good as a first growth have come to be called "Super Second" wines. Bordeaux Grand Cru First Growths are often difficult to access due to their rarity and price, so Super Seconds offer a chance to experience flavor characteristics similar to those of the finest Bordeaux wines.
