Edwin Jones: Good practice leadership within Active Support turns 'caring for' to 'working with' an individual Dr Edwin Jones of the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, interviewed at a BILD PBS Conference, talks about his work to support provider organisations to skill up staff providing support to people with behaviours of concern. Active Support is best seen as a primary prevention within Positive Behaviour Support, organising a more 'ordinary' environment and ensuring people have a good quality of life, the main 'side effect' of this work is to make people happier and therefore significantly reduce the need for restrictive practices. Effective Practice Leadership within support services is crucial to help lead, develop and reinforce staff practice in working in the right ways.
