Cella campanaria Plenum Campane Chiesa S. Antonio di Padova - Pescara ABRUZZO
In this video I'm in Pescara, an Italian town and capital of the homonymous province in Abruzzo. In the northern Castellammare area, near the Central Station, is the parish church of Sant'Antonio di Padova. HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC DESCRIPTION DRAFTED BY THE UNDERSIGNED The complex, with a convent, now houses the Order of Friars Minor Conventual of the province of Abruzzo of Saints Bernardino and Angelo. It was built between 1930 and 1949, thanks to a land granted by the Verrocchio family. The church mixes various styles such as Pisan Romanesque and Neo-Gothic. The salient façade is divided into three parts by pilasters and has three rounded portals in the base, of which the largest central one, with a mosaic lunette. The drawing on a golden background shows in the center the Madonna, in royal dress, crowned with 12 stars and on the sides of her there are San Francesco and Santa Teresa. The central portal is first surmounted by a niche containing the statue of the Madonna, then by an order of three round lancet windows and finally a Greek cross window. The side portals with lunette, dedicated respectively to San Francesco and San Bernardino, are surmounted by a niche. The façade ends with a portico of blind niches in series. The Latin cross interior is divided into 3 naves and combines Romanesque and neo-Gothic elements. The naves are marked by poliform exposed brick pillars and pointed arches. The walls, thanks to a monumental pictorial work by Father Giovanni Lerario, are enriched with prestigious paintings. Father Giovanni was involved in the work for 3 years starting from March 1945. During 1952 he worked carefully for the canvas of the Deposition and for the Stations of the Cross. The central nave is rich in paintings, even in the counter-façade, with scenes from the life of St. Anthony. On the left, before the transept, there is a prestigious marble ambo supported by a pair of twisted columns with capitals. On its sides the symbols of the 4 Evangelists are depicted in bas-relief. Access is via a spiral staircase. The ceiling of the aisles has wooden trusses. In the side aisles there are various ornaments, polychrome windows, paintings, 2 niches with mosaics that house the statues of Sant'Antonio di Padova and San Francesco d'Assisi, the statue of the Crowned Virgin and two polyptychs. The transept is preceded, in the central nave, by a monumental triumphal arch decorated with the painting of Sant'Antonio in Paradiso among saints while, on the other two aisles, there are false galleries. Near the presbytery there is the semicircular apse enriched by paintings of figures of saints and angels and by Gothic-style, polychrome and historiated windows. In the center there is a painting of Sant'Antonio. The characteristic elements of the altar are the twisted columns, the capitals and the trefoil arches. The tabernacle divides the presbytery area from the choir loft. CENSUS DRAFTED BY THE UNDERSIGNED The complex does not have a bell tower since the belfry rises from the adjacent spaces of the convent on the left side at the back. The concert is made up of 5 bells cast by the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry of Agnone in 2000 (Year of the Jubilee of Pope John Paul II). Each bell is a gift from "Giuseppe Vianello in memoria dei genitori Ernesto e Benvenuta". The bells are electrified by half momentum and are equipped with electro-strikers. The control panel for the bells is by the A.C.O. The main memorized sounds are the direct ones, visible in the programmer. In the video we see the solemn sound, as the only sign for the mass (15 minutes before), with the ascending expanse of all the bells. V - SIb3 waning - "S. THERESA / PATRONA MISSIONUM".
