I tackle one of the world’s most ball-breaking roads through the breathtaking Deosai National Park - the world’s second-highest alpine plateau. This brutal, bone-rattling ride tested my limits, with nerve-wracking weather adding to the thrill. These alpine plains are an otherworldly landscape that feels straight out of Mars, where every turn is a new challenge. This was an adventure I’ll never forget… but would you dare to ride this road? Often referred to as the "Land of Giants," Deosai is one of the highest plateaus in the world, with elevations ranging from about 3,500 to 5,200 meters (11,500 to 17,100 feet). It's a haven for biodiversity, hosting a variety of flora and fauna adapted to high-altitude environments: Brown Bears: Deosai is particularly famous for the Himalayan brown bear, which finds refuge here during the summer. Bird Watching: The area is a birdwatcher's paradise with species like the golden eagle, lammergeier, and different species of snowcocks. The extreme climate with cold temperatures for most of the year makes it a unique destination, accessible mainly in the short summer months when the snow clears. On this ride, we'll start in Skardu, then hit Satpara Lake, Deosai National Park and Deosai Plains, and end in Astore.
