Medellín Flower Festival 2025

This is a very short and comprehensive vlog of the flower festival of Medellín, which takes place every year. Paola and I decided to visit a nearby shopping mall which had various floral exhibitions due to this festival. So, come along with us and enjoy this short vlog. ________ History ------------- Medellín's Flower Festival (Feria de las Flores), started in 1957 by Arturo Uribe Arango, originated as a modest way to celebrate the city's flower industry and the tradition of Silleteros—farmers from Santa Elena who carried floral arrangements on wooden frames (silletas) to the market. It has since grown into a major annual event, a symbol of Antioquian culture and resilience, showcasing elaborate floral artistry and heritage, now recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage, featuring parades, music, and cultural events that blend tradition with modernity.
