TOWED Off a Sandbar — Our WORST Day in Belize

We thought we'd found the perfect hideout. Twin Caye, Belize — sheltered & tucked away from an incoming weather front, It looked ideal. It really wasn't. First came the Noseeums. Tiny, invisible, absolutely vicious. If you've never been eaten alive by biting insects you can't even see, consider yourself very lucky. We were not lucky. Then Cordelia went aground on a sandbar. In paradise. We needed a tow to get her free — and it was every bit as unglamorous as it sounds. But here's the thing about this life — even when it all goes wrong, you're still in Belize.
