Following the discovery of a Japanese beetle infestation beyond Society borders, the featherless giants began harvesting the insects and distributing them directly through the southeastern perimeter, where they were enthusiastically consumed. Earthworms also appeared in unusual abundance after recent rainfall, resulting in another highly successful feeding event. Also to note. A six-foot illuminated sentinel continued standing watch beyond the Civic Center throughout the day. Although repeatedly animated by the wind, the structure displayed no aggressive behavior toward Society citizens. During heavy rainfall it temporarily collapsed before resuming its patrol once sunlight returned. Officials remain uncertain whether the figure serves a ceremonial, defensive, or purely decorative role.
