Demand for stationery fee causes frustration for parents in Malamulele

Off to Limpopo now, where parents at some Quintile One schools in the Malamulele area have accused their local schools of refusing to issue their children with stationery until they have made once off payments. They say the amounts vary from school to school, ranging from one-hundred-and ten-rand ,with the Malamulele High School charging the highest amount of 550-rand per child. According to government, the state provides for school nutrition, stationery and scholar transport, if necessary, for all pupils at Quintile one schools. The SGBs of the affected schools have however told parents that the norms and standards money from government does not cover essential services such as security and cleaning.
