They Really Mean SEALED! Longines Cal 284 Restoration

This time on the bench we have a classic 1967 Longines dress watch. It’s a beautiful piece of horological history, but it’s running very poorly. My goal is a full service and restoration of the elegant Longines Caliber 284 movement. However, I quickly hit a major roadblock: the mainspring barrel is a "Sealed Unit." I soon learned that "Sealed" truly means sealed. Since these units weren't designed to be opened or serviced, I had to find a different solution to get this watch back to its former glory.
