My humble tribute to the journey of Indian cinema's most dynamic, romantic and enterprising artist - Yash Chopra! 15 songs from 15 movies that trace important milestones in the legend's journey leaving behind a legacy! p.s. please ignore the pitch mismatch in the first song, miss from my end. it is very difficult to sing this song at lower scale 🤦‍♂️😃 Some details about these milestones. listen carefully to the words... some of these songs also match with Yash ji's personal life situations.. i have covered them in my preamble. these are just my views. 1. Naya Daur (1957) - Journey starts as Assistant Director to his brother and legend B.R. Chopra 2. Dhool ka Phool (1959) - first directorial venture with B.R. Films 3. Waqt (1965) - India's first multi starrer and perhaps the first lost and found story repeated over years. Also important as it was his come back after a huge setback with Dharmputra, his second directorial. 4. Daag (1973) - his first venture with YRF or Yash Raj Films a powerhouse today. 5. Joshilay (1973) - first venture with an external production house 6. Kabhie Kabhie (1976) - second movie from the YRF stable, not a hit but a cult classic and also helped Big B break out of the Angry Young Man mould. 7. Doosra Aadmi (1977) - first film as a production house with a different director. 8. Kaala Pathar (1978) - Sahir Ludhianvi's last movie with Yash ji as director. He did one more mo in with the YRF productions though. 9. Mashaal (1984) - first successful movie of the 80s for Yash ji. Also his first and only film directing Dilip Kumar. 80s was a bad year for YRF with Chandni the only legitimate hit. 10. Parampara (1993) - Yash ji's last film for an external production house. He didn't do many films as a director only... perhaps 4. This was the only one that didn't run much. 11. DDLJ (1995) - start of a new era with son Aditya at helm as director. This is an all time cult classic and their most successful movie. 12. Veer Zara - The last self directed movie premier that Yash ji attended. His first pairing with the late and legend Madan Mohan Kohli ji... thanks to the efforts of his son Sanjeev Kohli ji, also the First CEO of YRF films when they expanded in late 90s. 13. Fanaah (2006) - the first film shot at the newly launched YRF studios. The studio has been home to several successful movies and TV shows since. 14. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) - became their highest grossing film in Yash ji's career as Producer. YRF has had bigger successes post his death. 15. Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) - his last directorial released 1 month after he passed away. True to the name of the movie Yash ji worked till his last breath.
