This recording preserves a memorable night at the Hopland Brew Pub in Northern California, when Chris Carnes secured the date and gathered friends for an evening of music, dance, and community. I served as the emcee, and Olympia—Chris’s girlfriend at the time—kept the rhythm with palmas throughout the performance. Friends stepped in as the night unfolded, each adding their own artistry to the celebration. I borrowed a camera for the occasion and asked Marco McClean to film the event. With both Chris and Catana now gone, these moments have become deeply meaningful to their families, friends, and the wider community who loved them. We have lost contact with Olympia over the years.
