KLETTERN: Fliegender Holländer (7 oder 6+/A0) - 14SL, Alpawand, Berchtesgadener Alpen

The "Flying Dutchman" is the easiest of the modern routes on the Alpawand near the Reiteralpe in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Like all the other Alpawand routes, it was developed by the duo Amann/Brüderl, who ensured safe protection with bolts at regular intervals. The protection is closer together in the difficult sections and somewhat further apart in the scree. The 14-pitch route is a moderately challenging grade 5 climb with sections in the 6th grade and one section each in the lower 7th and 7th grades. Due to the scree sections, a certain alpine mindset is advantageous.
