Una notte in Ryokan | Viaggio in Giappone | Ep 5
After a bus ride with spectacular views, I reach the heart of the Japanese Alps. The small town of Hirayu Onsen welcomes me with incredible tranquility, a wonderful oasis of peace that I immediately long to leave. In this famous hot spring resort, I can finally fulfill a lifelong dream: spending a night in a ryokan, where I can savor local delicacies and relax in an onsen, a hot spring bath. The town also offers passing visitors the chance to enjoy the therapeutic and relaxing properties of its thermal waters, thanks to the creation of a sort of open-air museum with natural hot spring baths, known as rotenburo. With breathtaking Hida beef, waterfalls that lull visitors to sleep, and white monkeys that roam the town, Hirayu Onsen is a destination I can't wait to return to.
