Simon English Wins Gettysburg Address Competition

Simon English, Landmark School senior, participated in a national competition hosted by Greenwood School in Putney, VT to deliver The Gettysburg Address. Documentarian Ken Burns, produced a film entitled The Address featuring Greenwood School's annual program to have each student memorize and deliver the address. This annual event spurred the idea for a national competition to do the same among schools serving students with various learning disabilities including dyslexia and ADD/ADHD. Of the many students in attendance representing 13 schools from Los Angeles to New York and Boston, Simon English won. He will deliver The Gettysburg Address at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC and in New York City at those cities' premier of Burns's film.
