Acordes Disminuidos y Semidisminuidos - Teoria Musical | Countblissett

Diminished chords and semi-diminished chords are often explained together to avoid confusion. Even so, it's very common for people who study music on their own, on YouTube, in books, or even in person, to get a little confused. This has to do with the fact that music theory textbooks refer to the semi-diminished chord of the seventh degree of the major scale as a diminished chord, when in reality, since it has a Locrian mode, it's a semi-diminished chord. This is directly related to the problem we face in music education, as the mode is often separated from the chord, when in reality they are two forms of the same thing. In this video, we'll look at the octatonic scale, the diminished scale, and the mode we use on diminished chords, while also examining the differences with semi-diminished chords.
