Webinar Recording-Transforming Accessibility: Locally-led Mapping in Humanitarian & Climate Action
On 15 April 2026, ADRRN and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team hosted the webinar Transforming Accessibility: Locally-led Mapping in Humanitarian and Climate Action. This session explored how shifting open-source mapping and aerial data collection into the hands of local actors can democratise data, strengthen disaster preparedness, and support climate action from the ground up. The discussion focused on the intersection of technology and localisation, and why locally led access to timely, relevant data matters for more effective humanitarian action. Speakers and participants shared reflections on how participatory mapping, accessibility-focused data, and local leadership can help improve preparedness, response, and decision-making in contexts affected by disaster and climate risk.
