Le contact, élément physique et psychologique essentiel dans la relation cheval-cavalier - B. Maurel
Webinar #1 in the series on contact, held on June 16, 2026 What the rider's hand touches through the reins is not only the horse's mouth, but also the entire structure of its topline: the back, the withers, and the neck. When the hand knows how to make this contact comfortable and secure, it becomes a guide that directs and directs the movement. The advantage for the hand of sensing the horse's desire to move forward gives full importance to this concept of contact. It is conditioned by the hand's ability to follow the movements of the neck and to modulate its action according to the horse's reactions. Complemented by the sensations of the seat and legs, it provides information about the horse's trust in the aids. For the horse, the "bouquet of sensations" arising from the points of contact with the rider evolves throughout training into codes that allow for mutual understanding and form the basis of riding. _____ Chapters: 00:00 Presentation and introduction 01:46 Definitions 08:02 In practice 13:58 Contact: What is it for?
