TEHRAN, IRAN 🇮🇷 Walking Through Tajrish at Nowruz | حال و هوای نوروزیِ میدون تجریش

In this video, we take a walk through #Tajrish Square and its surroundings, one of Tehran’s most iconic and vibrant areas, during the early days of spring and #Nowruz, the Persian New Year. The festive energy fills the streets, making it the perfect time to experience the charm of northern #Tehran. Our journey begins on Valiasr Street, the longest and most famous street in Tehran and #Iran, stretching over 17 kilometers from the south of the city to the foothills of the Alborz mountains in the north. This tree-lined avenue is a historic and cultural landmark, home to luxurious shopping centers, cozy cafés, and some of Tehran’s most important landmarks. The northern part of Valiasr Street, near Tajrish Square, is especially lively, with a mix of traditional and modern Tehran. As we reach Tajrish Square, we step into one of Tehran’s busiest and most historic areas. Located at the foot of the Alborz mountains, Tajrish has always been a major transportation and commercial hub, connecting the urban life of Tehran with the old villages and scenic nature of Shemiran. The square is a melting pot of locals, tourists, and shoppers, offering a glimpse into the daily life of Tehran. Next, we walk into Tajrish Bazaar, one of the oldest and most picturesque traditional markets in Tehran. Unlike the Grand Bazaar of Tehran, which is located in the city center, Tajrish Bazaar is smaller but more charming, with colorful shops, friendly vendors, and a vibrant atmosphere. Here, you can find everything from fresh seasonal fruits and handpicked vegetables—many of which are unique to this market—to spices, nuts, dried fruits, Persian sweets, and handicrafts. The market is especially crowded during Nowruz, as people rush to buy festive decorations, flowers, and Sabzeh (green sprouts) for the Haft-Seen table. After exploring the historic bazaar, we take a short walk to Arg Shopping Mall, a modern shopping center that represents the new face of Tehran. With international brands, luxury stores, restaurants, and entertainment facilities, Arg Mall stands in contrast to the traditional market, showing the mix of old and new in Tehran’s shopping culture. Finally, we return to Valiasr Street, completing our walk through the bustling streets of Tajrish, where tradition meets modernity in the heart of Tehran, Iran.
