Chamba and rest of the country. Bharmour, formally known as Brahmpura, was the ancient capital of Chamba district, India. Situated at an altitude of 7000 feet in the Budhil valley 65 KM to the south-east of Chamba, Bharmour is known for its scenic beauty and for its ancient temples. In winters, the temperature gets quite low and in summer temperature is mild. The Manimahesh Kailash peak that stands high close to the lake is home of देवाधिदेव महादेव भगवान शंकर Lord Shiva . This place is second to the Lake Mansarovar in its religious significance. To reach the lake one drives for an hour ahead of Bharmour to the road end at village Hadsar, about 13kms away. From there you have to trek for 4hrs to reach the Holy lake.
