The rain that fell late Tuesday evening dealt a severe blow to farmers. Hundreds of banana farmers in six villages lost standing crops worth crores of rupees. On receiving the information, Khandwa MP Gyaneshwar Patil and Burhanpur MLA Archana Chitnis swung into action on Tuesday evening. They immediately asked the district administration to conduct a survey of the losses suffered by banana growers. Collector Harsh Singh formed a survey team to assess the losses suffered by each banana farmer in the affected village.
